吳達坤
Dar- Kuen Wu
1974年生於台灣台北,1995~2000就讀於國立藝術學院,2002年國立臺北藝術大學美術創作研究所畢業之後分赴芬蘭北歐NIFCA國際藝術村(2002 )、紐約Location One藝術村(國巨科技藝術創作獎)(2005)、紐約ISCP國際工作室與策展計畫(2006)、東京Tokyo Wonder Site (2008)、韓國釜山Open Space Bae國際藝術村(2009)等地駐村。長期觀察藝文生態之外,亦從事教學、策展、出版、劇場…等工作,作品多次於台灣、英國、芬蘭、瑞典、西班牙、冰島、美國、印尼、中國、 日本、韓國、澳門…等地展出。曾受邀參與《第十屆日本大阪當代藝術三年展》、《2005印尼雅加達雙年展》及《 2010年台北雙年展連動計畫》。
專長為影像裝置、新媒體藝術、公共藝術等範疇,主要探討在電傳世界內影像對人的心理知覺狀態影響及社會化變遷的多重差異,以及運用影像關注實驗性、社會性等議題發展。近期互動錄影作品「迷樓-系列」持續受到國際各大展覽、美術館、機構邀約如國立臺灣美術館、韓國光州美術館、韓國釜山美術館、美國羅德島設計學院、中國廣東美術館、澳門塔石藝廊等地展出。作品亦被國立臺灣美術館及澳洲白兔美術館等諸多國內外基金會、私人藏家典藏。
現任為國立臺北藝術大學關渡美術館首席策展人、臺北藝術大學動畫系兼任講師、La Vie 雜誌專欄作家 。吳達坤為台灣替代空間VT ARTSALON (非常廟藝文空間) 發起人之一,當任第二任總監。亦曾任中華民國視覺藝術聯盟理事、台北當代藝術中心協會發起人、視覺藝術政策監督聯盟發起人、台灣文化創意產業促進會發起人。 2011年於高雄市立美術館所策劃之《後民國-沒人共和國》展覽獲得第十屆台新藝術獎評審團大獎、藝術家雜誌評選十大公辦好展覽第一名。 其餘策展有:《替身術II-台灣錄像新貌》香港中文大學(2012)、《替身術-台式錄像展》紐約456畫廊(2010)、《幻影劇場 —台灣當代新藝術》Blue Dot Asia 韓國首爾藝術中心(2008)、《ROOM19》關渡美術館(2008)等展覽。參與策劃則有:《第七屆釜山國際錄影藝術節》(2010)、《「夜視‧台北」國際錄影藝術展》(2003)、《腦天氣》錄影藝術節(2003)… 等。
吳達坤長期關注各類文化生成演變的過程樣態,更重視作品開創出的現場性與進行中的對話,反思文化體制中「交集/悖離」的核心面貌,呼應於藝術、文化、歷史或者全球化轉移的文化生產面向。試圖透過創作展開多元的對話機制,藉此直視普羅大眾對於現實/歷史/慾望中的諸眾問題。
Born in 1974 in Taipei, Wu Dar-Kuen got his Master of Fine Arts from Taipei University of the Arts in 2002. After graduated, he was invited to be the resident artist from several locations including NIFCA (Finland, 2002), Location One Artist Village by Yageo Tech-Art Award (New York, 2005), ISCP (New York, 2006), and Tokyo Wonder Site (Tokyo, 2008). Throughout the years, Dar-Kuen has applied his art practice in theatre, movies, arts teaching, arts criticism, and curating. His artworks have been shown in Taiwan, England, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Iceland, USA, Indonesia, China, Japan, Korea and Macau. He has been invited to participated in several major exhibitions include Osaka Triennial (Tokyo, 2001), Jakarta Biennial (Indonesia, 2005), and collaboration program in Taipei Biennial (Taipei, 2010).
Specialized in video installation and new media, Dar-Kuen’s works generally explore how images in world-wide-web have influenced in the human’s psychological status and the multiple possibilities of transferring time and space. The recent mass production, an interactive installation work, “Mi-Lou-Taipei” has been shown in Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), Gwangju Museum of Art (Korea), Rhode Island School of Design (USA), Guangdong Museum of Art (China) and Galeria Tap Seac (Macau). Works have become the permanent collection in Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, foundations and private collections.
Wu Dar-Kuen keeps on his curatorial practices in recent years. Major curated exhibitions include “Horizon Realm Contemporary Art from Taiwan” in Tenri Cultural Institute New York, “People’s Republic of China --- Republic without People” in Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan, 2011), “Stand-In Techniques - New Taiwanese video Style” in Gallery 456 (New York, 2010), “Illusion Theater- New Contemporary Art in Taiwan ” in ”Blue Dot Asia” (Korea, 2008), “ROOM19” in Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan, 2008). Co-curated projects include “ 7th Busan International Video Art Festival ” (Korea, 2010), “RANDOM-IZE Taipei” (2003), “Weather In my Brain Sound-Visual Art Festival” (2003) etc.
Wu Dar-Keun is one of the founders of VT ARTSALON (Taiwan), and was its director from 2009-2011. He was also the board member of Association of the Visual Arts in Taiwan, founder of Taipei Contemporary Art Center, Alliance for the visual arts policy, and Association of Creative Economy Taiwan. Having a mission of exploring the unlimited boundary of contemporary arts, he is currently working as a curator in Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), and is the columnist for La Vie magazine.
